Reunions of bands can be so awesome. Some are good, some are bad, but still we want to see them that one more time. Just to see if the feeling is still there that they gave you with their music or because you remembered that the shows were always so great.
I just saw Prong (prongmusic) a few months ago. I don't know if he ever really stopped with the band (Mr. Victor I mean), but it felt like a reunion, but I knew when I saw them again it was more like a resurrection. And no not like the Walking dead or something, but more like a phoenix, all revived and like new. Because wow they were awesome live, truly awesome. When I think back of the show that I saw at the Patronaat in Haarlem, NL...oh I still smile, what a show.
The Police too by the way, that is some years ago too. They were pretty good. Not that I like big arenas, smaller venues give a better feeling musicwise. It feels like you're more part of it, like it's you and the band and not you, thousands of others and oh yeah..the band too. If you like the Police, Sting's old band but you miss the vibe and the feeling of old times or want to get the idea how a Police-show would have been when they were younger..then I recommend a show of Fiction Plane (fictionplane), so good. Just like how the Police would have been and they made so many great songs already.
Just was in London last week, but I got just back in time to see one reunion show of The Travoltas (therealtravoltas), oh my, I have missed these guys so much, unbelievable. This feelgood surfpunk is so addictive. And I totally remember again why I always followed them to see so many concerts as possible.
One band I would really like to see again is Pulley (pulleymatters). They already did some shows again, but mostly in the USA. If I remember correctly they were here in Europe last year and I unfortunately had to miss them, since I was not in Europe and I felt quite bad about it. Well you know, because I love them, like I love so many bands but okay I love music, it's my true passion, I can't help it. At least this year Ten Foot Pole (tenfootpole) is coming to Europe and that makes me superhappy too, since Ten Foot Pole/Pulley are like twins, not because they look too much alike, but still they belong together, one way or the other.
I can not forget the band that toured with a band I love very much, the Satanic Surfers, and they are called: The Almighty Trigger Happy (The-Almighty-Trigger-Happy). They play awesome punkrock and they have tunes and give shows you won't forget. They just started again with playing this year and I really hope that I can see them playing live, even if that means that I have to visit Canada for that.
Whoa the rest of the year my ears are going to hate me so much...so many good bands (not all are reunions) coming this way: Only Crime (officialonlycrime), Prong again, Ten Foot Pole, Richie Kotzen (richiekotzen), Ignite, OFF! (offband), Kataklysm again, Havok again too, Hatebreed, Chimaira (chimaira) and I can go on. And comeback albums are not all bad, they're not doomed to fail on beforehand and they are not all done for the money. When music is in your blood it's often what you HAVE to do, simply because you need to. It's a feeling inside that musicians will know.

Friendship
Cherish your friends, because one day they just dislike you for no good reason. No matter if you were a good friend or not, they just don't want to see it. Their heads so filled with other stuff that they don't even care about a friend that genuinely cares about them, annoying or not. I hope this person finds the way back to the amazing friendship that we had, before it's too late. I miss you.

SOS
What is it about music. How is it that it can give a peace of mind and soothe the soul? How is it that it can help us through the worst of times? I, and I suppose a lot of you too, have music to thank for my life, for giving me an undying passion for these melodies that take me away to a better place. A place without fear, pain, rejection, but with moments of joy and happiness. The feeling of only you and the music, a moment of something like paradise just for a little while. Because it gives you a chance to cry out all your pain and let this sorrow leave your body as soon as the music stops. It gives you a chance to scream out all your frustrations or maybe even headbang and letting all the anger go, simply by your favourite heavy song. When there's no friend around, the voice of your favourite singer can soothe your soul and help you through your day. You owe the music that you listen to, and the bands that make it, much more than you realize.
It's like you have a friend that you can carry with you. It's not the same as a pair of arms around you, no. The hugs of a real friend could do so much good to a person. But if you are not around a friend now, than you know you can count on your music. What other thing can I say than: thank you so much bands/musicians for helping me through the bad times, making me want to be alive. Thank you for showing me that life will get better and that it's not only dark times.
As long as you have your music player than you have all you need for now, the rest will follow...

O que e faz a musica especial? Que ela consegue calmar a cabeça e a alma? Como ela consegue nos ajudar nos nossos momentos mais dificeis? Eu, e acredito que muitos de voces, tem que agradeçer muitas vezes pela musica que com as suas melodias leva para um lugar melhor. Um lugar sem medo, dor, rejeição. Ao contrario com felicidades e alegria. Aquele sentido que existe so vc e a musica, um momento de paraiso para um momento. Ela te da a chance de chorar e se livrar de todas as dores e deixa a tristesa sair dor corpo com o final da musica. Ela abre a oportunidade de gritar para fora todas as frustrações ou simplesmente bater a cabeça e soltar toda a raiva, simplesmente escutando o seu som pesado favorito. Quando não tem um amigo perto a voz do seu cantor favorito consegue calmar a sua alma e ajudar vc no seu dia. Voce deve para a musica que vc escuta e as bandas que criam-la mais do que voce imagina. E como se fosse um amigo que sempre te acompanha. Não e a mesma coisa como um abraço, não. Os abraços de uma pessoa verdadeira podem fazer tão bem. Appreciation
Hello everyone,
Let's talk about appreciation this time. When you do something for another person most people do that without expecting something in return. I do that too, at least well...all I want is a bit appreciation for my work. Ok I would lie if I say that I don't like the free cd's, t-shirts or entrance-tickets that I get once in a while. Because I love them ofcourse, but real, genuine appreciation would do the people that help you and care about you so much.
And I'm not talking only about friendships here but also about music.
As a band, a musician, you have to realize that if you wouldn't have any fans, you would still be playing in your garage for your reflection in the mirror. If you wouldn't have any fans, maybe you wouldn't ever had the chance to see other countries all over the world. Realize and acknowledge once in a while that they're the ones that help you reach your dream, that otherwise would still be a dream.
Making music is about passion, the passion that comes naturally and flows from your hands into your instrument or comes out through your voice.
Fans feel that passion too and find happiness or can soothe their soul with your music. Some fans out there will try to help you out, with promoting you and your band on twitter, Facebook and such, so your band will get more known. They will make flyers or posters so lots of people will show up at your show and buy your merch. Make t-shirts because they're proud to know such a great band and want to get you more fans, simply because they know you deserve this. They will give you a safe place to sleep when you are on tour. And I can go on and on.
Bands, musicians, you truly exist and can only realize your dream with the support of your fans, don't forget them and show them some appreciation. If you only would see how much a shout-out could do and make a fans' day so much better.
And while you're on it, don't forget the friends that supported you all the way and never stopped believing in you. Family, friends and fans those three things are the backbone and power of a musician.

Olá a todos,
Hoje eu gostaria de falar com vocês sobre valorização. Quando se faz algo para outra pessoa, na maioria das vezes, fazemos isso sem esperar algo em troca. Eu costumo fazer dessa forma, bom, pelo menos eu tento...
Tudo que esperamos é que nosso trabalho seja valorizado. Ok, eu estaria mentindo se dissesse que não gosto dos CDs, camisetas ou ingressos que ganho de vez em quando, porque eu amo isso, claro, mas na real, a apreciação genuína faz com que as pessoas façam tudo com mais vontade.
E eu não estou falando apenas de amizades aqui, mas também de música.
Como uma banda (ou músico), você tem que perceber que, se você não possui fãs, você não sairá da garagem e não terá mais do que seu reflexo no espelho. Se você não tem fãs, talvez você nunca tenha a oportunidade de ver outros países ao redor do mundo. Perceber e reconhecer, de vez em quando, que eles são os únicos que ajudam você a alcançar seu sonho, eleva isso a outro patamar.
Fazer música é paixão, e paixão que vem naturalmente e flui de suas mãos em seu instrumento ou através de sua voz, e os fãs tem que sentir essa paixão também e encontrar a felicidade, acalmando a alma com a sua música.
Alguns fãs vão tentar ajudá-lo promovendo sua banda nas redes sociais, como Twitter, Facebook, etc., tornando sua banda mais conhecida. Vão fazer panfletos ou cartazes e assim mais pessoas aparecerão em seus shows e comprar seu material demerchandise. Faça camisetas, porque eles têm orgulho de conhecer uma grande banda e querem que você consiga mais fãs, simplesmente porque eles sabem que você merece isso. Eles vão conseguir um lugar seguro para você dormir quando estiver em turnê e muito mais.
Bandas e músicos em geral, tenham em mente que vocês só realizarão seu sonho com o apoio de seus fãs, então não se esqueçam deles, deem valor a isso. Pode parecer que não, mas simplesmente mandar "aquele alô para a galera" pode fazer o dia de um de seus fãs muito melhor.
Se você está realmente nessa, não se esqueça dos amigos que o apoiaram durante todo o caminho e nunca deixaram de acreditar em você. Familiares, amigos e fãs são a espinha dorsal de um artista.

Festivals and more
Hello guys,
Sorry, I wrote this post a while ago, but I updated it, so I hope you
still will enjoy it!
This is the time to think about festivals already. Festivals? Yes, here in Europe the festivalseason is
roughly from early June to the end of August (some exceptions ofocurse) and is filled with hundreds of festivals.
Now, in the last months of last year, a lot of festivals already revealed the
names of some headlining bands and some festivals are even sold out already
(like Wacken Open air in Germany!).
I think you have good festivals
all over the globe, but if you love them, than it’s worth considering spending
your hard earned vacation days here in June, July or August (summer on the
European continent) and go crazy seeing all your favourite bands in many
different European countries. I know you will have a blast because you can visit
a festival every weekend and most of the times also inbetween weekends too
hahaha.
I must say it’s not all very
cheap, especially when you want to visit a lot. But if you can afford, or
choose a few ones you really want to visit, it can be done. Or consider a whole
camping vacation (you do on the festivals as well so why not..).
Bands that I’ve seen so far, on the festivalwebsites, that are
coming this way are Black Sabbath, Iron
Maiden , Soundgarden, NOFX, Metallica, Volbeat, Pearl Jam , Carcass, Trivium,
Rob Zombie, Megadeth, Authority Zero, Alter Bridge, Death Angel, Nine Inch
Nails, The Offspring, Hatebreed,
Kataklysm, Alice Cooper, Crowbar, Decapitated, Prong, Suicide Silence,
Obituary, Soilwork , The Black Dahlia Murder, Misfits, Millencolin and I can go
on and on like this.
The most festivals will have metal, rock, hardcore and punkbands but
there are a few mainly punkrock (and ska, etc.) like Groezrock (is in May in
2014), Punk Rock Holiday, Rocco del Schlacko or the Tells bells festival. If you
go, don’t only check the names you know but try to catch some other bands, that
you haven’t heard of before, too. This is how I discovered a lot of great bands
that I still listen to today!
If you ever going to do a trip like this or not, one thing I can guarantee
you: you’ll have a vacation you won’t
forget.

Now that we’re talking about festivals. I saw a lot of old bands are
going to play these festivals, so I’m going to tell you about a few that you
should check out!
If you don’t know Millencolin yet, it’s about time. It’s a
(skate)punkband that came up in the same timeperiod as the Satanic Surfers,
Refused, 59 times the pain, The Hives (yes they exist for a long time!),
Liberator and they were all on the same punkrecordlabel Burning Heart Records.
They made some very nice albums, for example: ’Life on a plate’,with
the wellknown songs ‘Bullion’ and ‘Killercrush. Another album from them you
might also know or want to check out is ‘Pennybridge Pioneers’ with
fanfavourites like ‘No cigar’ and Pinguins & polarbears’. If you like
Millencolin you can check out a lot of bands that were on the Burning
Heart-label, that unfortunately -if I’m correct- doesn’t exist anymore, because
they always knew how to find the good bands out there.
Millencolin will play some festivals in Europe in May/June for now,
more can be added ofcourse:
Nine Inch Nails, a band that if I’m correct is from the same timeperiod
as Nirvana (but doesn’t sound like Nirvana at all). With guitar and soundeffects
they created their own industrial style where they are known for and their
‘hits’ like: ‘Head like a hole’ and ‘March of the pigs’. I don’t think Trent
Reznor ever really stopped with Nine Inch Nails but was just in the background
laying low and now they’re back and touring in 2014. In february in doing (big)
clubshows and in july/august festivals.
Prong also exists for quite a while, but there’s one album that once
you’ve heard it, you won’t forget that’s called ‘Cleansing’, and then especially the song
‘Snap your fingers, snap your neck’, it’s a real classic and after hearing it
this is what you hear in your head when giving someone a look that could kill
or the evil eye o.O hahahaha.
So next year a new album and they’re
not only doing the festivals here but also a little tour on the European
continent (and other countries too I presume). A lot of bands are always easy to check out on
(music)websites like YouTube, Spotify, Deezer or that kind of sites and the
bands own websites too ofcourse.
Time to thrash now with a band from Brazil (from the city’s
Itapira/Campinas) called Slasher. Not on any festival in Europe next year
unfortunately, but they should be in my opinion. They make a modern style of
thrash which really sounds nice in the ears, sort of speak. Not that it’s soft
or anything but it’s just easy listenable and the tunes stick in your head. Slasher is still a young band (started in2008)
and they made their first album ‘Pray for the dead’ in 2011.
Now they’ve just finished their new album ‘Katharsis’, that they made
with help of Tue Madsen, and will release early 2014. They did a lot of work on
this album theirselves and asked Mr. Madsen to finish it off and make it sound

more I saw that in early 2014 some good bands/musicians are visiting Australia and Asia, for example:
Kreator,
Death Angel, D.R.I., Devildriver, Testament and Suicide Silence.
In
Middle & South America it will be Rob Zombie, Metallica, Rob
Zombie, Metallica, Kataklysm, Amon Amarth and Havok in the first part
of the year.
In the USA you can watch out for Reel Big Versus
The World, The Ataris, Authority Zero, Affiance, D.R.I., Carcass, Gorguts, Dillinger
Escape Plan and A LOT more in the spring
And for my continent, Europe, so many bands to look forward to, like Crowbar,
Red Fang, Soilwork, Devildriver, Sylosis, Corrosion Of Conformity, Prong e
Sepultura! I already got some tickets for a few things that I don’t want
to miss but I could visit a show every day if I wanted and had enough free time
(and money hahaha).
So start 2014 good with some good music that I recommended here and in
my other posts or stuff that you found yourself and I’ll be back with a new
blogpost with more music and other things soon!

Já é hora de falar em festivais!
Festivais? Isso mesmo, aqui na Europa, a temporada de Festivais acontece entre
o início de junho e vai até o final de agosto (com algumas exceções, claro) e
há centenas deles por aqui. Em meados do último ano, uma série de festivais
revelou nomes de algumas bandas headliners e
outros já estão esgotados, como o Wacken Open Air, na Alemanha.
Eu acredito que há vários festivais
pelo mundo, mas se você realmente os ama, vale a pena considerar a ideia de
passar alguns dias de suas férias e gastar um pouco por aqui em junho, julho ou
agosto (verão do continente europeu), para ficar louco vendo todas as suas
bandas favoritas em muitos países diferentes. Certamente você irá delirar,
porque você poderá curtir um festival a cada fim de semana e na maioria das
vezes durante a semana toda também, hahaha.
Devo dizer que não é tudo tão
barato, especialmente quando você pretender fazer alguns/vários city
sightseeing, mas, se você puder pagar por isso,
faça-o, caso contrário, escolha uma versão reduzida, selecionando menos lugares
para se visitar e escolhendo os melhores os eventos (aqueles em que você pode
ver a maioria de suas bandas favoritas). Uma dica é considerar fazer camping,
pois existem áreas reservadas para isso nos festivais. Por que não?!
Até o momento, pesquisando nos sites
dos festivais, encontrei as seguintes bandas que desembarcarão na Europa nesse
verão, são elas: Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Soundgarden, NOFX, Metallica,

o PunkRock (Ska, etc.), como o Groezrock (que ocorrerá em maio de 2014), o Punk Rock Holiday, Rocco del Schlacko e o Tells
Bells Festival.
Se você vir, tente não se ater
apenas aos nomes que você conhece, tente assistir também outras bandas, das
quais você não tenha ouvido falar antes. Foi assim que eu descobri um monte de
grandes bandas que ainda ouço até hoje.
Se você vai fazer uma viagem como
essa ou não, só há uma coisa que posso lhe garantir: Você vai ter férias inesquecíveis!

Bom, já falei bastante sobre os
festivais, então agora vou falar um pouco sobre bandas que já estão confirmadas
para a próxima temporada. ;-)
Se você não conhece o Millencolin
ainda, é só uma questão de tempo. É uma banda punk que
surgiu na mesma época dos Satanic Surfers, Refused, 59 Times The Pain, The
Hives (sim, eles existem há muito tempo!), Liberator, e todos eles eram da
mesma gravadora, a Burning Heart Records.
Eles gravaram discos muito bons,
como ‘Life on a plate’, que contava com músicas conhecidas como ‘Bullion’ e
'Killercrush’. Outro álbum deles, que você pode conhecer ou querer conhecer é o
‘Pennybridge Pioneers’, que contava com as músicas ‘No Cigar’ e ‘Pinguins &
Polarbears'. Se você gosta de Millencolin você deve conferir algumas das bandas
da Burning Heart Records, que infelizmente, se eu estiver correta, já não
existem mais, pois eles sempre souberam achar boas bandas por aí.
Millencolin vai tocar em alguns dos
festivais por aqui em Maio/Junho, mas ainda podem confirmar ainda mais.
Nine Inch Nails, que pelo que me
lembro, é da mesma época que o Nirvana (mas não soa nem um pouco como eles,
hehehe). Com suas guitarras cheias de efeitos sonoros, eles criaram seu próprio
estilo dentro do que se chama de música industrial, e são conhecidos por e seus
'hits', como ‘Head like a hole’ e ‘March of the pigs’. Eu não acho que Trent
Reznor nunca realmente parou com o Nine Inch Nails, ficando no segundo plano
controlando as coisas levemente para agora estarem de volta em turnê em 2014.
Em fevereiro irão fazer grandes shows em clubes e entre Julho/Agosto, em
festivais.
Prong também existe há um bom tempo,
mas há um álbum que, depois de ouvi-lo, você não esquecerá jamais, que é o
‘Cleansing’, que tem um som muito especial, chamado ‘Snap your fingers, snap

são sempre fáceis de se achar em sites de música como o Spotify e Deezer, ou
vídeos, como o YouTube, além de vários outros sites voltados a música, claro.
Agora é hora de falar de thrash,
com uma banda do Brasil, surgida no interior de São Paulo, nas cidades de
Itapira e Campinas, chamada Slasher. Não tocarão em nenhum festival europeu
nesse ano, infelizmente, mas na minha opinião deveriam. Eles fazem um estilo
moderno de thrash,
que faz muito bem aos ouvidos. Não que seja leve ou algo assim, mas é audível e
tem melodias que grudam na sua cabeça. Slasher ainda é uma banda nova, que
começou em meados de 2008, e lançaram seu primeiro disco em 2011, chamado ‘Pray
for the dead’.
Agora eles acabaram de lançar seu
novo álbum, 'Katharsis', gravado com Tue Madsen. O álbum foi gravado, em sua maioria,
por conta dos próprios músicos, e então contaram com Mr. Madsen para mixá-lo

E para meu continente, a Europa,
muitas bandas para se assistir, como Crowbar, Red Fang, Soilwork, Devildriver,
Sylosis, Corrosion Of Conformity, Prong e Sepultura! Eu já tenho ingressos para
alguns que eu não quero perder, mas eu gostaria de poder ir a shows todos os
dias, se tivesse tempo livre e, claro, dinheiro… hehehe
Então comece 2014 bem, com boa música,
como recomendei aqui e nos meus posts mais antigos, ou até mesmo procurando por
outras bandas das quais você goste. Logo eu voltarei com mais música e coisas
boas pra vocês!

Yes, I made a top 10 list too
Hi people,
Happy 2014!
Yes normally lists are something for the
end of the year. But hey I'm not normal or standard, whatever you want to call
it and I'm glad about it. Who wants to always blend in and be the same as
everyone else? I want to stand out and be remembered for being nice and wanting
to help others. For helping bands even if it's with just little things like
this blog/website, making stickers or promote bands on here, YouTube, Facebook
and Twitter. Well..back to my list, I wanted to give you a list of my favourite
albums of 2013, which is a collection of all kinds of good music (in any
language), because you know I like a band for the good music they make and not
because of their style. But the list is in no particular order because I simply
can't choose...hahaha.

Depeche Mode you say, yes Depeche Mode is
in my list too. As I told you guys out there. Good music isn't about style but
is about feeling and ofcourse your taste is part of that too. I'm just open to
a lot of music, but still I think that bands that write their own lyrics and
songs are far in advance to bands/artists that don't do this. Because being in
the musicbusiness just for the money and the fame is not the right reason in my
opinion. Yes ofcourse I want my friends to make it big too and I'm sure that a
lot can actually get there too, but they will get there through passion, hard
work and dedication, and by the friends and fans that help them along the way
and not through a televisionshow. I hope that the people that want to make
their dream come true with the help of a televisionshow get out of it what they
want, but in my opinion doing it for the money and fame is not the right reason
to make music. Then it's only a nice hobby and not a passion. But hey this is
all just my opinion and that's what I try to put in a nice form to read on my
blog here...haha.
But enough, now back to list. If you haven't heard these bands then feel free to check them out on YouTube, Deezer, plain old cd, vinyl or whatever you use to fill your ears with magnificent
music.

the artist you like you show that you support them and that helps them feel
good and more important: in making the music you like! Because instruments and
studios are not for free.

são algo para o fim de ano... Mas, aê! Eu não sou normal nem nada, do jeito que
você quiser chamar ta valendo. Quem quer sempre "fazer parte" e ser
igual a todos? Eu quero me diferenciar e ser lembrada por ser legal e querer
ajudar os outros. Por ajudar bandas, mesmo se através de pequenas
coisas como este blog/website, fazendo adesivo ou promovendo bandas
aqui, no YouTube, Facebook e Twitter. Bom, de volta para a minha lista, Eu
queria te dar uma lista dos meus albums favoritos de 2013, que é uma coleção de
todos os tipos de musica boa (em qualquer lingua) pois você pode apostar, eu
gosto de uma banda pela boa música que eles fazem e não por causa do estilo.
Mas a lista não tem nenhuma ordem particular porque eu simplesmente não consigo
me decidir... hahahaha!

sim, Depeche Mode esta na minha lista também. Como ja lhes disse acima, musica
boa não depende de estilo, é mais pela sensação e, é claro, o seu gosto faz
parte disso também. Eu simplesmente estou aberta a muita musica, eu ainda acho
que bandas que escrevem suas próprias letras e canções estão anos-luz de
artistas que simplesmente não fazem isso. Porque estar no music business apenas
pelo dinheiro ou pela fama não é um bom motivo, na minha opinião. Sim, é claro,
eu quero que os meus amigos se tornem "grandes" também e tenho
certeza que a maioria pode chegar la mas eles chegaram através de sua paixão,
trabalho duro e dedicação, e com a ajuda de amigos e fans que ajudem eles por
este caminho e não por um programa de TV. Do contrário isto é apenas um hobby
legal e não uma paixão. Mas aí, esta é só a minha opinião que eu desejo mostrar
de uma maneira legal poraqui... heheheh.
Mas é isso aí, agora de
volta á lista. Se voce não escutou essas bandas então sinta-se livre para dar
um check nelas no YouTube, CDzão clássico, viníl ou seja la o que preferir para
encher o seus ouvidos de musica excelente.
